A Real Rant for Once about "Car Dealers"

O.K., for once I have a real rant about "Car Dealers"

So it’s been awhile since I’ve been “online”, mainly due to the usual work and school (college) stuff. Usually when I am online here or posting a blog it has been in reference to the "Technical" side of my business and for the most part, I get a few reviews,
(not many responses except for a few Pm's).
So this is the 1st time in awhile that I have an actual rant.

WHAT IS THE MATTER WITH CAR DEALERS?

YES, I am seriously asking that question, WHY?
Because while trying in good faith to make a deal to buy a new car, the dealer I went to said they sold the vehicle that I had put a down payment on last week.
They claim there was a   “mix-up” with the vehicle ID. numbers and the number
I have on my contract was not valid.
Is this what that call a "Bait and Switch"?  Again, I ask because I've heard of these type of nightmares from other people and thought this was just some exaggeration. Maybe not?

So now the deal is off unless I take another vehicle they have in stock.
Of course I asked what happened (while trying not to curse)???
Since when does a dealer renege on a deal after you get a signed document? WTF!!!
