So Again, It's been awhile (since 2020)

 Yes…,

It’s been a real long time since I’ve posted anything lately. I’m hoping this hiatus is very short lived, since it seems COVID is starting to take a step back or we are just going to move to an “endemic” meaning we just simply live with the fact that we are going to have to live with COVID.

With that all being said, I’m hoping to move back onto what this site is supposed to be about so… if any of the visitors are interested, please visit my main site which is on Facebook (Fitz Digital CAD Service). Just doing a regular Google search will take you to my business site which is still active however, that mainly for business and doesn’t cover what been going on the last couple of years.

Finally, if anyone that visits my site, or wouldn’t mind, keep in mind that I rarely do I even post, more or less ask for a favor. Since voting is still open for #au2022 class proposals, (up until April 25th), please take a look and up vote for my classes. #AU, #MiltFitz,#Revit-to-AutoCAD-or-PDF, #Autodesk® CAD-or-BIM-software-vs-Manual, #Milt Fitz & give a👍! Thanks!

So it’s been awhile, Again...

OK....
Once again it’s been awhile since I last sat down to write or rant about anything. In fact, this technically is my 1st blog of the New Year on this blog site.   I guess I’ve just been too busy to really rant about anything. As far as writing or posting questions or help that’s a different story. Seems I have been on the Autodesk Discussions group, LinkedIn, and the usual FaceBook social sites to do a lot of postings lately.  That doesn’t mean I am giving up running my own blog.

That being said if anyone needs to get in contact with me please feel free to write, post a comment, or contact me via the other sites.  Anyway, hopefully the next time I post a blog I’ll have a bit more to say.
Take care,
Milt

No Rants, Just Information...

Just trying to get my head back into posting and promoting my consulting business again. With this blog I only plan on posting some of the most recent information that I've been into. Also, I've really do not have any real rants although, I did send off a few complaints which to my surprise were resolved immediately. No reason to get into what the problem is with customer service lately and if asked, I will go into the details and also explain how the situation was resolved. That being said...
Here is what I have going on:

1.) With Autodesk University (AU)  for now I have two (2) class proposals both involving collaboration tools, or use of the current software for sharing ideas and information. The software is easily accessible online at Autodesk and with a few clicks can be downloaded. All you need is a computer capable of running the software and a little guidance to use the software.

2.) With "Fitz Digital CAD Service" I'm in the process of updating my website again, now adding or uploading the illustration work that I've done from Art Study Course at County College of Morris (CCM).

Classwork this semester:

Gator Bowls — at County College of Morris.

Contrasting Color Study, with red as main color.

Dealing with Writers Block

Dealing with Writers Block:

As a “Tech. Guy / CAD person” the normal work flow involves creating drawings and or solving a problem with other users that are involved with AutoCAD, or Technical drafting. One of the reasons I started my consulting business is because I feel that I’m very good at what I do which is just being a drafter (or draftsman for you old timers). Give me something to draw or ask me to show you how to do something and I would draw, or draft it up for you. If you asked me to explain what I have done either verbally, or in words “forget about it”…
So I ask, how does the “non-writer” deal with “Writers Block”

Obviously, in some instances, I have gotten over this problem. In fact, I am proud to say beside this blog, I have written a few articles for Cadalyst magazine: (http://www.cadalyst.com/management/news/tips-amp-tools-weekly-vol-11-no-44-7287). That being said, at times, I still run into problem writing college term papers. Yes believe it or not, I’m still going to school, primarily to keep up with the times and to keep my CAD skills fresh. For the 1st time since taking college English 101, I’m challenged. It’s not the process of writing, it’s actually having a true “Writers Block”.

With time, anyone can write a decent or “acceptable” college term paper.  With this one course that I’m taking, a term paper, or blog is due every week, no exceptions. Piece of cake right, except…the work must be of your own, no paraphrasing (or using bibliography, etc., etc., etc…), and it must be 15 sentences or “3 paragraphs” which is a problem when you have no time. Since I do not consider myself a writer this is a problem especially considering I do not go to school full-time (I work for a living hopefully like you do). As usual the topics you get to write about are about things that everyone knows about, right ;-)

So, to wrap this up, it seems I have a problem or that I’ve developed a “Writers Block” when it comes to creating a paper or blog on a weekly basis, about a topic that I know nothing about. As a student, or technical person, that’s not a technical writer by trade, I’m asking anyone that does write for a living “how do you deal with the Writers Block”?

Surviving the 2013 Blizzard “Nemo”

Well for anyone that was concerned, we survived the 2013 blizzard storm named “Nemo”
In our area we received 9-1/2” (See Picture)

It’s hard to believe even with those totals Jersey did indeed dodge a bullet.
Just East of us (only 30 to 45 minutes) Long Island got slammed. Hopefully to my friends in the “Sunrisers Drum and Bugle Corps” (which has moved back out to Long Island), and to my friends up North in Connecticut and Massachusetts everyone is safe.

I have a few more photos (from Friday, Saturday and Sunday) Saturday was my dig out day so I didn’t even go online to post anything. By the time I was done I really was too tired to do anything except read my work assignment for college. Now I’ll have to blog for my regular college assignment which only goes out the County College of Morris web site.
Take care…

American Pickers, or Storage Wars?

Since when did trying to get work become like American Pickers, or Storage Wars?
I'm still looking for new work based on a commission system.
It seems as if the work is out there, since I keep getting a request for work and or quotes.
One of the other little things that seem to annoy me is all of these advertisers, or marketing firms that claim they can help me get business but the want a fee for the leads.
Seems as if all the want is my money, never mind about the type of job lead you get.
It just seems like a waste of time to pay for a lead if you don't even know what it is you are bidding on.
So.... when did trying to get work become like American Pickers, or Storage Wars?

Going Digital?

The wave of the future since the advent of the internet is “Digital Media”.
If you need "Drafting Work" and want it "Digital", or prefer
"Computer Aided Drafting & Design" We Can Help.Saving ones work in the engineering field usually meant “blue printing” or “microfiche” and lots of storage space. Now, since most of the work is done over the internet and on computers the reason to go digital is a no brainer.
Using Computer Aided Drafting, or "CAD" to save a company, or agencies work is also practical. There are several reasons why a business or consumer may need to go digital. They will have less clutter, (space savings) a permanent way save their ideas, and a way to send their ideas and information over the internet.

Fitz’ Digital Cad Service, L.L.C. will be a consulting, or consultant to any small business, agency, or in some cases consumers in the field of :
“Digital Replication”.
